AMISHA PATEL & HRITIK ROSHAN
KAHO NA PYAR HAI
Kaho Na Pyar Hai saw the arrival of two hopeful newcomers. One of them already had the advantage of being the directors (Rakesh Roshan) off-spring. Yes the millennium heart-throb Hritik Roshan took the world by storm. With his chiseled looks and heavenly body (you can tell this is written by a female can't you !) females all over the globe went ga ga over this bod. The perfect platform for his star son ! |
||
Undoubtly one of the best films of 2000 - the fresh couple and a fresh look. Amisha gave 100% -- with her girl next door looks and her innocent glances - she has a very bright future indeed if she picks her films carefully. |
||
Hritik also had Fiza released in the summer of 2000 and Mission Kashmir released in Diwali. Not bad for a newcomer . . . and with Subhash Ghai's Yaadien and Karan Johar (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai fame) Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Ghum, both to be released in 2001- lets hope he doesn't burn himself out ! |
KAREENA KAPOOR & ABHISHIEK BACHAN
REFUGEE
Refugee saw the debut of Karisma Kapoor's younger sister Kareena and Amitabh Bachan's son Abhishiek. Refugee was carrying very high hopes for these two. With excellent direction, casting and locales and outstanding music, unfortunately Refugee did not leave up to its expectations. However, both Kareena and Abishiek proved they have a hell of a lot of talent to show for and even though it was there first film - they carried their roles off exceptionally well. |
|
The fresh faced Kareena hasn't had any releases post Refugee, her next (very eagerly awaited) release is Subhash Ghai's Yaadien which she stars opposite Hritik Roshan. This will be released in July 2001. |
|
Abishiek had a release about a month after Refugee opposite bollywood newcomer Kriti Reddy (south indian actress) Tera Jaado Chal Gaya. Although Abishiek was protrayed in a different light (modern, singing, dancing city guy) the film was not a huge success. Mainly due to the weak direction and script. Maybe he too should choose his films carefully ??? |
KIRTI REDDY
TERA JADOO CHAL GAYAA
Abishiek's second and Kirti Reddy's first Bollywood movie: Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa boasted a good simple storyline - a light-hearted feel-good movie that failed to make in impact. A soundtrack helped and a free tour guide on France ! | ||
Although technically this is not Kirti's first film, as she as acted in south indian films - but has not managed to prove herself as of yet. With most of the reviewer's discribing her as a: clothes show-horse, doll-like . . . I think you get what I mean ! |
WOW !! 6 NEWCOMERS IN MOHOBBATIEN - BEAT THAT !!
UDAY CHOPRA |
SHAMITA SHETTY | JUGAL HANSRAJ | KIM SHARMA | JIMMY SHERGILL | PRITI JHANGHIANI |
Son of Director Yash Chopra and brother of Aditya (director of Mohabbatein. His first acting stint. Looks very lively and full of energy, good performance, although in my opinion needs to improve on his dialogue delivery. |
Younger sister of Shilpa Shetty, good looks, good acting, good dancing, has a lot of potential to carry off a film on her own two shoulders. Her portrail as a 'spoilt brat' looked too realistic - get what I mean? |
Don't know any history on this guy! Or any relations! Although I am sure I've seen him in something before (?). Very cute, excellent acting - very convincing. Will go far (my prediction) if he chooses the right film. | Mmmm . . . not bad looks, acting...well...o.k. One thing I didn't like about her is her voice- its a bit squeaky although a bit of dialogue delivery practice won't go a miss! | Very handsome, he reminds me of someone- but I can't put my finger on who (?) Acting very good although he didn't have much of a role - but made the most of it. Next Shah Rukh ? | Oh
What a sweety !
This girl has potential, her dancing is also good, she also sounds good. She has a lot of competition though with the likes of Kirti, Neha, Amisha, Kareena etc etc. |
